| Steven R. Goldring received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine, St Louis, Missouri, and completed an internship at Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, and a residency at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, Boston. Subsequently, he was a clinical and research fellow in the Arthritis Division of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
The author of more than 120 journal articles, book chapters, reviews, and abstracts, Dr Goldring is associate editor of Bone and Arthritis Research and serves on the editorial boards of Bone and the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research. He is the recipient of the James H. Fairclough, Jr Award and the Marian Ropes Award for arthritis care and leadership, both given by the Massachusetts Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, and serves as chairman of the Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Study Section of the National Institutes of Health.
Dr Goldring has concentrated his research efforts on dissecting the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in the regulation of physiologic and pathologic bone remodeling.
