Peter Gregersen received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and was a fellow in rheumatic diseases at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City.
Dr Gregersen is a founding member and the lead investigator of the North American Rheumatoid Arthritis Consortium (NARAC), the world's largest collaborative effort to identify the genes involved in rheumatoid arthritis. He also directs several other large consortia including the Multiple Autoimmune Disease Genetics Consortium (MADGC) and the Autoimmune Biomarkers Collaborative Network (ABCoN). He is the author of over 100 publications, and currently serves on the editorial boards of Genes and Immunity, Arthritis Research and Molecular Medicine.
