Mart Mannik received his medical degree from Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his internship and residency in medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, was a guest investigator and assistant physician at the Rockefeller University in New York, and received his postdoctoral fellowship from the Arthritis Foundation.
Author or coauthor of more than 220 articles and book chapters, Dr Mannik's research interests focus on immune mechanisms of rheumatic diseases. For his research accomplishments he has been elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation, the Association of American Physicians, and Fellow of the American Association for Advancement of Science. He is the recipient of the Lee Howley Prize for Research in Arthritis, awarded by the Arthritis Foundation, and the Distinguished Investigator Award, awarded by the American College of Rheumatology.
